A vacation of sorts

This week has been a great vacation of sorts and I am sad that it is coming to an end. As the saying goes though, all good things must end sometime.

On Saturday, Angela, Pam and myself accompanied the Maa family (Goodman, Ellen, Joseph and Sarah) into Philadelphia where we toured Independence Hall then wrapped up the evening with a comparison of the two famous cheesesteak locations, Pat's and Geno's.)

Goodman's vote was for Geno's and Ellen preferred Pat's. For our overall count, Pat now has 4 votes and Geno's has 1. I did want to note that Geno's has the vote for better cheese fries and soda though!

We were hoping to have dinner at the Rib Crib, but it was closed for Thanksigiving weekend. We'll put up a review of their famous BBQ when we do go.

The star of the weekend (for Sarah at least) was Frankie, our silkie terrier. The Maa family had never been around puppies before, so while Sarah was afraid of both puppies at first, she eventually really bonded with Frankie. Poor Goodman will now have to deal with both children wanting a puppy! Due to Oreo's size, the children never did get use to her, so she spent most of the weekend in the room. She did get a whole turkey leg to herself though, so I'm sure she enjoyed the festivities nonetheless.

Daphne was also with us this Thanksgiving, but had to study for her upcoming law midterm on taxes. I took about 5 minutes to read over some of her study materials and don't think i've ever seen the words arbitrage and non-recourse used so many times in a few paragraphs. It's ummm, yeah very intersting stuff Daphne... uh huh. Good luck on your exam!
